The Proof
In working with a large municipality in Central NY, DDO:
- Helped them progress towards their vision of being recognized as a world-class leader in waste disposal and recycling solutions by establishing their program as leader in aerated static pile composting. In doing so, they earned the respect of regulators and industry peers. NYSDEC recognized the program as leading the State in aerated static pile composting of food and yard wastes.
- Made it possible for the Compost Operations to be named 2010 Compost Operations of the Year by the Composting Council. The program also was awarded the 2011 Silver Award for Excellence in Composting by the Solid Waste Association of North America. They also received the 2011 Environmental Excellence Award from the NYS Department of Environmental Conservation.
- Assisted the municipality with business plan development and marketing where Compost Revenues continuously exceeded projections and increased over 500% since 2008.
- Provided the site with oversight of the general and electrical contractors, working as a liaison to the engineering firm. That included reviewing installations, proposals, change orders, field corrections, quality assurance and quality control. These services saved the Agency over $100,000 while controlling change order expenditures to less than 1% of budgeted cost.
